These BIRMINGHAM YCL "26" Series Lathes include models YCL-2660, YCL-2680 and YCL-26120 . These Birmingham Lathes have proven themselves to be the choice geared head metal cutting lathe of the professional machinist . Some of the many features included on these Birmingham YCL Series Lathes are 4-Way Rapid Traverse, On The YCL-26120 ( Optional On YCL-2660 & YCL-2680 ) ,Removable Gap Bed, 10 HP Main motor, D1-8 Spindle Mount with 4 1/8" spindle bore, 16 Speeds ( 26 to 1700 RPM ) , 54 kinds of Inch threads, 54 kinds of Metric threads, 42 kinds of Diametrical Pitch threads and 46 kinds of Module Pitch threads . The Main Spindle is hardened & precision ground and the bed is made of a fine grain high tensile strength cast iron . The Bedways are Induction hardened & precision ground and all gears & shafts are hardened & precision ground . No change gears are required for the most commonly used threading applications . The Main Spindle is supported at 3 - points by high precision bearings . A one piece cast iron base is standard
